I hear reports that people have been able to get an extension on top of an existing extension without a letter from their embassy. Are there anyone here who have reliable information that this is or are becoming a common practice in the current situation? I'm particularly interested in hearing experiences from immigration in Koh Samui! 🌱🙏

I'm asking because as of now the Danish embassy is still not issuing the letter!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the possibility of obtaining a visa extension in Koh Samui without a letter from an embassy due to COVID-19 restrictions. Some users share their experiences, indicating that, generally, a formal letter is required, and even with it, some have faced denial. The Danish embassy is specifically mentioned as not currently issuing these letters.

I tried emailing the Australian embassy but just received an automated reply and there is nothing on their website. Any Australians can advise?

Thank you but I’m already in Bkk. I’d like to know whether the Australian embassy offers the letter supporting extensions that many other embassies are offering. I already have the smarttraveler updates thanks 🙏🏼

What we recommend

18 March 2020:

We now advise all Australians: do not travel overseas at this time. This is our highest advice level (level 4 of 4).

If you are already overseas and wish to return to Australia, we recommend you do so as soon as possible by commercial means.

Nope, no one I know of has been able to get an "unable to travel due to covid-19" 30 day extension WITHOUT the embassy letter and some people with the embassy letter were denied because it's not an original letter stamped by the consulate but a PDF emailed to you.

What is one supposed to do ? Go to your Embassy and ask for the original letter ?
