TLDR : Answer Summary
Travelers have confirmed that it is acceptable to fly from Bangkok to Kuala Lumpur and return on the same day without leaving the airport, obtaining the necessary visa stamps. Some expats suggest having sufficient funds available (20,000 Baht) when re-entering Thailand. Additionally, if someone is considering obtaining a 60-day visa in Kuala Lumpur, they need to ensure they have the required documentation, such as proof of onward travel and accommodation, as these documents are scrutinized during the application process.

If I want to get 60 day visa in Kuala can I do it if my last 60 day visa was obtained in Penang? They were also strict about having a flight from Thailand which I didn't have and told me that next time I need to have a flight booked. Is it also a rule in Kuala?

They can only do 120 per day I forgot mention so arrive early and get in line for the doors opening!

Ted they did, a few years back, but they have apparently started doing them again, it is a relatively recent change I believe. They require a lot of documentation but if you have everything they ask they will give non-residents a tourist visa.
English. Just needs the address of person inviting you and a copy of their passport and says something along the lines of "My friend.....will be staying with me from x date until x date at x address and will leave on bus to Cambodia.

Vinny Rodham what language was the invitation letter written in and was it typed?

As long as you take a copy of flight going into Thailand and a flight or bus ticket out of Thailand, proof of accommodation (I used invitation letter) and completed application forms should be no problem.

I stand corrected :)

Ted Baker I got a 60 day single entry tourist visa from KL last week. No problems at all and from UK.

I thought KL stopped issuing TVs for non-residents of Malaysia,
Embassy website are so easy to find, here a link to their check list. Yes you need flight ticket and reservation/confirmation of accomodation or rental agreement.
, it can't really cause much of a problem because they already know you're comin' into thailand on that flight AND you'd have your boarding pass too. But it's a good idea to stamp in&out because for most people that's free in Malaysia.

Ah, I assume that not stamping in / out could cause problems. Last time a friend of mine went there, he didn't stamp in/out of KL and never had any problems, though.

I'm doing it next month, getting a 11.20pm flight to KL from Don Muang, staying in a airport transit hotel for 6 hours and returning at 8.00AM in the morning. Doesn't answer your question but I know you can stay in the airport
