TLDR : Answer Summary
If you fly to Kuala Lumpur and return to Thailand, you will receive a 30-day entry stamp. This stamp can be extended for an additional 30 days at immigration for a fee of 1,900 Baht. This process effectively allows you to stay a total of 60 days in Thailand.

That's exactly what I did last month. Its not a 30-day VISA, its a 30 day STAMP you get. The 30 day entry stamp cost you nothing, but the extension will be B1900 when you go to immigration :-) 30 Day stamp + 30 extention gives you 60 days
