Hi everyone! I'm sorry to bother you, but I couldn't find my answer with the search function.
My visa extension expires this Sunday the 5th. I just want to do a quick border crossing via bus to Myanmar. to get the 30 day land border visa (which Laos for the last one). Can anyone tell me if it is possible to do this on a weekend? I think the one to Laos is open on the weekend but you have to pay extra because it's "outside of normal business hours". I know the Myanmar crossing is closer and cheaper to get to, but I don't really know anything else about it! Thanks for your help.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post inquires about the possibility of crossing the Thailand-Myanmar border on a weekend to obtain a 30-day visa exempt entry. Respondents confirm that it is possible to cross the Mae Sai-Tachiliek border during weekends (open from 7 am to 9 pm) to get a visa exempt entry, but note that one cannot obtain a visa by simply crossing back and forth. Additionally, there are limits on how many visa exempt entries can be accessed via land in a year.
You aren't going to get ANY visa by just crossing the border and comin' right back. :/ You can get a 30 day visa exempt entry though :)
You can certainly go to the Mae Sai - Tachiliek border with burma, pay $10USD (or 500baht) stamp out of thailand, stamp in&out of burma and stamp right back into thailand (y) That'll get you a 30 day visa exempt entry
Be aware though you can only get TWO 30 day visa exempt entries by land in a calendar year..

I thought so, but it never hurts to double check. :D Thanks!

visa exempt entries by air are not part of the two a year. that's only for land crossings.

Super!
At the beginning of the year it's 2 more LAND entry visa exempt entries, right? So entries by plane are counted separately?
