Does anyone here know if changing a COVID-19 extension to a family support (wife / kids) extension is possible?

I was originally here on a Non-O Family visa. Does anyone have experience or knowledge on this? Thank you!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking information on whether it's possible to change a COVID-19 extension to a family support extension in Thailand, after initially entering the country on a Non-O family visa. Comments inquire about the specifics of the user's entry date and the financial requirements related to the visa change.

Are you asking if you can meet the 400K baht in a thahi bank account in your name only financial requirements and apply for a marriage extension? OR are you asking if you can apply for a 60 day visit thai family extension?

then as far as I know you cannot apply for a yearly extension because you ran on overstay (even though you were allowed to and there was no fine)

All you can do is go out to the immigration office you use with your thai wife and children and see what they say about it .

As I said, it is my understanding and experience that if you took the amnesty you can't do it, but it's 100% up to the immigration office

if you find out the information I shared is not correct and can report back that'd be great (y) Good luck with it, you're out nothing by asking them, I mean all they can say is no 🙂

It is my experience that as long as you didn't take the "free amnesty" <-(which really was nothing but letting you overstay without paying the fines 😮 from Mar 26th to Oct 31st) you could apply for a yearly extension from a covid extension because the entry can be traced back to the original Non-O entry.

So when did you enter the country on that 90 day Non-O stamp?

nearly a year ago. I did take advantage of the amnesty period while returning wasn’t possible, before the first set of requirements for entry (with permission / quarantine) were established.

unless you were here from March 26th 2020 to Oct 31st 2020 you did NOT participate in the amnesty.

Let's make this easy, look in your passport and tell me the date on the entry stamp where you were stamped in for 90 days coming in on a Non-O visa.

the visa amnesty existed from March 26 to October 31, 2020. Were you here then?

first we need to see WHEN you actually entered the country on your original Non-O. So when was that?
