Can I apply for a DTV as soon as my bank account reaches 500,000 baht, or do I need to maintain it for 3 months?

Is it ok if I apply for DTV as soon as my bank account reach 500,000 baht? Or should I have 500k in my account for 3 months when I apply? How likely the rejection would be in case I apply as soon as I have 500k?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a DTV (digital nomad visa) in Thailand, requirements regarding the bank balance vary by embassy. While some embassies may accept applications with a balance of 500,000 baht for a short duration (around 10 days), others may require maintaining that amount for a period of 3 to 6 months. It's essential to verify the specific requirements of the embassy where you plan to apply, as there are no uniform rules. Most applicants suggest that providing statements showing a consistent balance over 3 months may reduce the risk of rejection.

FROM AI APP PERPLEXITY:

Core requirements include a completed application form, recent passport photo, passport biodata copy, and proof of 500,000 THB (about 15,000 USD) in a bank account from the last 3 months.

Then I know that the one in VNM HCMN requires 6 months of constant 500k on your home bank account.

Whatever happened to anyone else and worked was a bonus or hit the joker. Is it worth the $600 gamble? Not to me but if it is for you, go for it.

There's no specific rule. Mine approved with just 40 days maturity. Some people were asked to provide updated statement.. I think if your closing balance exceeds minimum (600K+ Baht), then they don't bother maturity time.

The wording is 3 months statements with an ending balance of 500k baht not 500k for 3 months but pedantic but that's what it says as long as it has 500k at the end

I just got approved for my DTV. When you apply online it tells you exactly what you need to upload. I submitted 3 bank statements showing 500,000 baht for 3 consecutive months. The online portals asks you for what’s required.

Anonymous participant 890 when I applied in Hanoi 2024, they asked me to further submit my last 3 months bank statements. I didn't do this with an agent, I applied by myself.

Anonymous participant 239 London wanted to see 3 months statements as well, to demonstrate income, but I only had the 500k at the end.

Anonymous participant 239 yeah i submitted 4 months bank statements, because i wasn’t using my english bank in december. i think people are confusing the bank statements with needing the 500k for 3 months in a row, you need to provide them with at least 3 bank statements but it doesn’t state anywhere your balance must be 500k for a minimum of 3 months

Anonymous participant 239 submitting 3 months bank statements is obviously not the same as having 500k in the bank for 3 months

It varies. Some embassies do not care as long as the closing balance is at least 500,000 baht. Others require three months of seasoning on the account, and some even require six months. You will need to confirm the exact requirement with the specific embassy where you plan to apply.

USNomad for everywhere 3 months is enough except for Vietnam HCMN where they want to see bank statements for the last 6 months. If you file while in Da Nang, you need to file through the consulate in HCMN (on line but through that consulate).

That's not the point. First you can't file in person, only online. You get to know more once you file online. The website will show you which one for where. Get on it and read what it says.
