The distinction between a soft power DTV and a workation DTV can be unclear at times. While immigration officers have access to internal notes indicating the visa type, such as DTV1 for workcation and DTV2 for soft power, this information is not always visible on the visa itself. It's advisable for travelers to be prepared with necessary supporting documents such as acceptance letters, employment proof, and course schedules to prove their visa purpose during re-entry or extensions in Thailand. Travelers are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the visa regulations before their trip.

Immigration at the airport sees that you hold a DTV, and the visa itself usually does not print the words workcation or soft power on the paper you show.
In practice the system they scan does have internal notes. Some officers report it as DTV1 for workcation, DTV2 for soft power, DTV3 for dependent, and some eVisas have remarks that hint at your purpose. Other travelers say the officer could not see the category at all and just asked them directly what they do in Thailand. So it is mixed.
For you the safe way is to be ready for both. Bring your acceptance letter or employment proof, your bank proof and your course schedule if you are on soft power. Even if the officer cannot see your category at first glance, they can ask you to prove you are still doing the activity you used to get the visa, especially on re entry or when you extend inside Thailand.
You could consider reading a book or two before your trip. I’d recommend Unlock Thailand by Isla Rey on Amazon, it includes all the info and insights you need. You should check it out. A very good companion 👌.
NoWonderNoWonder123 Doesn't matter at all. The OP's question is, of course, wrong. However, he almost certainly knew that! Soft Power or Workcation refers to the application route only. A DTV is a DTV. After issue there is no difference.
Mine and my wife’s doesn’t mention, we are both on remote worker DTV issued in Ottawa and ours says employment prohibited in the remarks. I bet it’s dependent on the embassy.
UnderstandingCamell some say and some don’t. Mine don’t say and was told if you applied from London embassy it’s just a standard DTV. I applied for soft power with a 1 month course last September
EmpatheticSeahorse2083 ha. You're right. Mine doesn't either. I have seen a lot in this group with the words workcation on them. Maybe every embassy does it differently
EmpatheticSeahorse2083 mine was approved a few days ago, it just says DTV.. but while applying you select if its workation, dependent or soft power, so they have it in their system for sure
