TLDR : Answer Summary

The original poster suggests they've heard that it's more challenging to get a work permit for a new company and inquires about the process. Various comments provide insights into the visa application process, indicating that while a Non-B visa is often needed to apply for a work permit, the process can vary based on the circumstances and documentation provided. JD, He's been my accountant for 3 and a half years so far. I've paid him big money compared to my modest income but I have to say he's always been efficient and punctual with papers. Cannot complain

My point is Money Talks in Thailand and without paying large sums getting a Non B and Work Permit even for a Registered Business owner is an ordeal. And some of the money involved may not have been for legitimate fees.

Tod, I'm not sure because the stack of papers was prepared by my accountant and it was a huge pile. I got the NON B visa in Italy and the WP a couple of months after I came back with the visa. But that was some time ago and I don't really know what was in the papers. :)

What I was told was that many factor of your company would affect some of the processes.

When you company opened, what type of your company is, who is the director, how much is the capital, etc., etc.

Procedure for WP from existing company and from starting up company would be different.

@Chi***
, I would almost bet that the "company papers" you used to get the Non-B had the receipt of having applied for a work permit in the packet.

There're only a couple thai consulates that will issue a Non-B without that receipt.

The Non-B visa you get after you have the WP. Or if abroad with the WP3 form (application is made). If you have all the papers you can apply for work permit, in Krabi they give a list which papers needed at Ministry of Labor. They are very kind and helping.

I got single entry (three month) non-B outside of Thailand with paper. Then applied WP in Thailand. And get 1 year Non-B with this WP...

no, that's not correct, you apply for a work permit and get a "receipt of application" from the Ministry of Labor, then you use that to get your Non-B
