Anyone been to the Thai Consulate in Ho Chi Minh recently to get a Single Entry Tourist Visa? 

Is it painful/strict/need to go at a certain time to avoid a big queue etc? Next day pick up, I presume..

British Passport.

Ho Chi Minh is fine. Garret hasn't been there and doesn't know what he's talking about. I went there to get a non o , year long multi entry. Everything was fine. No queues no questions no problem. Went there on the Thursday afternoon and was seen instantly and came back on the Friday with no queue whatsoever. Good luck on your trip mate. Keep your wallet stuck to you like glue tho !

Been to HCMC for both, SETV and ED visa. Very straight forward details about required documents on their website. Can recommend. If you meet all the requirements, pick up passport with visa next day in the afternoon. And HCMC is a great city imho :)

A friend of mine applied for an Ed visa HCM this morning - he arrived at 7:30 and was still the only person in the queue when they opened at 8:30. Super quiet at the moment.
