Is it confirmed that the Thai visa exemption period will remain at 60 days instead of changing to 30 days?

My Apologies to ALL Members for jumping the gun on the 60 to 30 visa exempt change.

That is a RECYCLED article that was out in March last year and just being parroted again

At this time NOTHING has been officially announced about when/if the change from 60 days for 90+ countries will change to 30..

Thanx go to Dany Nomad for pointing out that it was a recycled article (y) (y) (y)

My sincerest apologies to everyone (even I get it wrong sometimes :P )

The funny thing is that they posted this recycled article just 1-2 days after they posted the recycled article about visa exempt going to 60 days. Must be slow news week.

It would in any event be rather illogical to phase out a scheme for which they have only recently issued updated enforcement guidelines. So let us hope that this scheme will remain in place for the foreseeable future.

They extended visa from 30 days to 60 days 2 years ago to boost economy.

It would be not logical move to bring 30 days back. I had feeling that these articles can be fake.

Just went to the Thai eVisa website, they are going to be doing an update to the site Feb 14-15, so maybe we will see something then

although the timing is curious, a free visa exempt stamp wouldn't really have anything to do with applying for an E-Visa through that portal.

I saw it from several sources, so it wasn't only you that jumped the gun. I guess you might need to wait for an official government source for news of changes like this.

I have seen several crappy old-news articles written in major outlets recently. One of them made it sound like the DTV is some brand new upcoming visa and now this recycled article from Bangkok Post. Trash journalism, easy to get confused.

while we would probably expect you (respectfully meant) to usually wait for some official announcement from the Thai Government, I can see how you were led to believe the article was new... I saw mention of the "caretaker" Government being able to approve the changes.
