Happy New Year ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ™! Every winter I visit Thailand for about 55 days. For about ten years now, I enjoy the 30 day visa exemption and then get the 30 day extension at the Chiang Mai immigration office. Flying from Korea, I was asked for a visa for the first time today, since my return ticket is more than 45 days away. Has anyone had an issue with this? Do I need a ticket out of country within 45 days to be allowed in without a visa? Thanks as always for the information and advice. ๐Ÿ™

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has been visiting Thailand annually for 55 days using a 30-day visa exemption followed by a 30-day extension. However, they faced a new request for a visa due to their return ticket being over 45 days away. A commenter advises confirming with the airline about the requirement for a departure ticket within 44 days of arrival, suggesting purchasing a temporary ticket to show at check-in.

ASK your airline as they are the one's most likely to ask to see your ticket departing Thailand within the 44 days stamp you receive on arrival as Visa Exempt Entry. Your arrival date counts as DAY #1

Sorry but we have been giving members that advice on the forum. Somehow you missed seeing it.

Suggest you buy a cheap one way ticket to Phnom Penh from Bangkok ... Print out the ticket confirmation to show the airline at check-in for your flight to Thailand. Cancel or throw away the ticket.
