Hello, I would like to book a flight ticket today on the very last day of my 30 days visa exemption: I go for visa border on september 11th. I don't want to make any mistake and overstay, so I have counted October 11 or 12 th, which day is correct? thanks for your support :)

TLDR : Answer Summary
An expat in Thailand seeks clarification on the correct exit date based on a 30-day visa exemption, having entered on September 11th. Community members confirm that the last day to exit would be October 10th, explaining that the counting starts on the day of entry. Several users suggest considering a visa extension or border run, while others advise against planning to leave on the last possible day due to potential unforeseen circumstances.

thank you all for your answers 🌼

or you just apply for the 30 day Extension of Stay at your local Immigration Office. Than you have 60 days in total to plan your next leave.

🙏 Yes to make it clearer

I'm interested in a flight which is leaving at 00:30 am on october 11th
Amornrat **********
first you mention 11th, than you switch to 10th. Anyway it does not matter.

@Isa ******
yes, 23:59 is OK, 00:01 is next day

you mean "must leave within 10th" ??
Amornrat **********
legally your flight must leave within 11th. Not your check in.

If you enter on September 11th with a visa exemption you must go out on October 10th.

Not 11th, not 12th.

It's 30 days INCLUDING THE DAY YOU ENTER

you can not get a visa at a border. Did you already entered Thailand twice this calendar year using the 30 day Visa Exempt Entry by land borders? This assuming that the country of origin of your passport allows you to use the Visa Exempt Entry. Or what kind of visa are you going to apply for at a Thai Consulate before you make your way back into Thailand?

@Isa ******
no need to count yourself dear
@Isa ******
see your exit stamp in your passport, it will say the day you need to pass Immigration at an airport before midnight or cross a Thai border out into another country :-)

Isa Belle Planning to do things on the very last day is actually never a good idea! You can get indisposed, sick, get involved in an accident, you name it! Prudent would be to have one or even better two days leeway, just in case. I had to do a bounce before the 9th of September, I went to the border yesterday, just to be safe..

@Isa ******
the date you have to leave will be In your passport.
Amornrat **********
do a border run to nearest border, more easy than to fly. If you leave 11th and come back on 11th than you get 10th October. If you come back 12th you will get up to 11th October.
