Hi. My 30 day exemption expires on the 6th but I am currently in Penang with plans to return to thailand on the 6th. (The day my exemption runs out)

What are my chances of getting another 30 days?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual is seeking advice on the chances of obtaining another 30-day stay in Thailand upon their return, as their current exemption expires on the day of their return. Responses indicate that since their previous exemption will be canceled upon exiting the country, re-entry should grant a new 30-day exemption, especially if there's no suspicious visa history. However, it’s advised to be prepared for potential immigration checks, including proof of sufficient funds, accommodation, and onward travel.

I'd say IF you don't have an extensive history of living here on back-2-back visa exempt or tourist visa entries you probably will sail right thru passport control on a new 30 day visa exempt entry without being questioned about anything.

Heed what

said though because the officers at passport control CAN ask for those things IF they want to.

Seeing as you're IN Penang now why not stop by the thai consulate and get a single entry tourist visa?

Hey Steve, your old exemption is not valid anymore after leaving the country. You will get a new one, that will let you stay for another 30 days.

Just want to remind you, that immigration can ask for:

1. Proof of funds (traveling alone: 10'000 Baht, traveling as family: 20'000 Baht)

2. Booking of accommodation

3. Onward flight

Usually they don't care, but they are allowed to ask and they can deny entry, if one of those proofs is missing.
