ORIGINAL POSTER
Hello,

I submitted my dtv application to the LA embassy on 5/3 (Saturday). It's now 5/15 (8 working days later) and my application is still "pending document check." At which point is it reasonable to contact them and ask for an update? Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the appropriate time to contact the LA embassy regarding an update on their dtv application, which has been in a "pending document check" status for 8 working days. Comments suggest that the processing time can be lengthy, with one user sharing their experience of nearly 2 months. Another noted that the embassy's website states a processing time of 15 working days and that holidays may affect this timing.

It's been a month since I submitted my original application to LA. I submitted extra documents 12 business days ago (not counting recent holidays), mine still says "pending document check". I sent an email requesting an update 3 days ago with no response. 🫠

Also, the 5th was a holiday, so only been 7 days. LA states 15, and if they ask for additional documents, they add 5 more days once those documents are submitted
