Is FWD insurance a reliable option for Thailand Pass, or should I consider alternatives like Worldtrips?

Have any of you used FWD insurance for your Thailand pass?

It is linked directly on the Thai pass website, but still somehow seems too good to be true. AXA is 1000 baht for a week while FWD is only 650 for 30 days.

Also wondering if anyone has used worldtrips lately, since that plan would be only slightly more and would actually cover us for other things.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses experiences with FWD insurance linked to the Thailand Pass, highlighting its inexplicably low cost of 650 baht for 30 days compared to AXA's higher rates. Comments reveal mixed experiences; some users had no issues, while concerns about coverage limitations during quarantine and inadequate payouts prompted skepticism. Several users suggested Worldtrips as a solid alternative due to its broader coverage at a slightly higher cost.

yes, it is good to go. You can use this comparison tool for the most commonly used insurance on entering Thailand.

I ended up going with Worldtrips insurance. Was $35 for 3 people for 8 days and apparently covers us for just about everything. Thailand pass has already been accepted and emailed to me.

Let's face it these insurances are unlikely ever to pay out so just pick the cheapest one that's accepted.

I was paying under $40 a month for insurance, and that was when it was 50k.

The Thai insurances are incredibly overpriced

that is precisely why all Thais don’t buy insurance. So their target are foreigners residing in Thailand

uh….the Thais don’t buy insurance because if they get Covid it’s covered, so yes they are not targeting the people that don’t need to buy it 🤷‍♂️

Especially when you consider its probably a sham. Its someone (policy maker) digging into your pockets.

I honestly wouldn't mind paying a little extra to help the Thai people, but this isn't that. Bastards

Did you look to see the cost of AXA for 29 days? When I was shopping for insurance AXA seem to be monthly prices. When I set the dates for 6 weeks was the same price as 8 weeks.

AXA is 1000 for 7 days, 1600 for 2 weeks (which I'd need because we'll be there 8 days) and 2600 for a month.

Those guys are bastards.

There is a company (the owner of this group) is offering to do your Thai Pass + insurance for 1900 baht. That is what I would do if I were in your position.

Thanks for the advice, but I'd rather just pay 650 each for the insurance and send our info in myself.

FWD issue is (14 days ) waiting period and existing Covid denial . Basically , if you arrive with Covid during QT , it won’t cover .
