Wanted to confirm that the 800,000 bht needed for the non-o 60 day bank deposit to receive one year extension does NOT have to be shown as an electronic transfer form outside of Thailand.

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The requirement of the 800,000 Baht bank deposit for obtaining a one-year extension on a Non-O visa does not necessarily have to be shown as an electronic transfer from outside of Thailand for the annual extension. However, when converting from a tourist visa to a Non-O visa inside Thailand, the deposit must show as a foreign transfer. Additionally, there is an ongoing discussion regarding whether the source of the funds needs to be proved, indicating variability in requirements.

At the moment there is also talk of the fact that the origin of the funds has to be proven. Maybe not the same everywhere.

You're not clear on what you're asking about.

You say non-O. If you're trying to convert from tourist to non-O visa inside of Thailand at an immigration office, the 800,000 must be a foreign transfer.

If you're talking about the annual extension (not a visa) then it does not need to show as an international transfer.

I arrived with a non-o 90 day retirement visa.

I will be applying for a one year extension with 800,000 in Thai bank for two months. From what you posted -it does not have to be deposited from a foreign account.

@Graham *****
well how do you count that. Still must be in bank over 60 days or over.

@Roberto *****
60 days is not two months (Nov 30, Dec 31) so you'd go a day early

As long as it is showing in a Thai bank acc for the required months all good

How it gets there is not needed
