Spouse already received 1 year Non-O Retirement Visa inside Thailand.

Do I need to show 800k/400k baht if I want to apply Non-O Dependant Visa based on spouse's Retirement Visa?

No need for the applicant of Dependant Visa, am I correct?

Planned location to apply : probably Thai Embassy in Penang. If other neighbouring cities allowed, I don't mind considering.

Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
To apply for a Non-O Dependant Visa based on your spouse's Retirement Visa, you do not need to show proof of funds (800,000 or 400,000 THB) as you are a trailing dependent. However, you first need to obtain a 90-day Non-Imm-O visa from a Thai embassy or consulate outside Thailand, such as in Penang, based on your status as a trailing spouse. After entering Thailand, you can convert this visa into a 1-year Extension of Stay Permit.

First off, your husband has no visa. He has a one year stay permit based on “reason” retirement

You need to apply on the Thai embassy of your home country FIRST a 90 days Non-Imm-O visa based on being a trailing spouse to a foreigner who holds a stay permit in Thailand. you do not need to show any proof of funds.

You cannot get this visa inside Thailand

If you can get this 90 days visa based on being a trailing spouse at the consulate in Penang, is out of my reach (I guess it is not possible but others have confirmed that you can get it there)

You need to start with this 90-days visa, enter Thailand, and change the visa on Immigration into a “1-year Extension of Stay Permit based on being a trailing spouse of somebody who has a stay permit in Thailand”

Penang is the only consulate we know of that currency processes these applications near Thailand.

You do not have to show proof of funds as you're a trailing visa dependant upon your spouse's visa who already showed funds.

recent report from an applicant who went to Penang, is they no longer will issue the non-o dependant on retirement.

Applicants should contact embassy before going.

Also it doesnt show as an option on the website.

Only shows for non-b and ED now.
