TLDR : Answer Summary
Using a Wise account as proof of funds for a Thai DTV visa is possible but not guaranteed, as acceptance varies by embassy. Some embassies accept official Wise statements while others may reject them due to Wise being a financial technology service rather than a traditional bank. It is essential to contact the specific embassy for their policies regarding proof of funds.
I have never had bank acoount other than "Savings".

With this discussion of Wise, what type of bank accounts can be used: checking, savings, investment, retirement, CD,β¦? Does it make a difference?

When downloading a bank statement for the monthly requirement, do they check the regular income? Asking because my statement will show many incoming and outgoings, so worried the regular income will get lost if they don't specifically look for it. This is for Non-O marriage by the way and I'm applying in Vientiane.

maybe, maybe not. It apparently depends on the embassy in question. WISE is not a real bank, they are just a finance provider. Which some Thai embassies might see as a reason for not acknowldeging it. Only the embassy through which you apply for the DTV, can give you a definite answer, and not any one of those blokes on Facebook

Bro, dont keep $15k in a wise account. Anything more than $100 is risky, they aren't a bank
First of all, Wise has a $200k transfer limit. 2nd, transfers and holding money in your wise account are 2 different things. 3rd, yes there's tons of people have have their accounts frozen and lose their money, join the Wise FB group.

wire and swift limits of wise are over $1m per transfer. You can always join thos groups not to make up false information.
A Wise account may be accepted for a Thai DTV visa, but it is not guaranteed, as acceptance is embassy-specific. Some embassies have successfully processed applications using Wise statements, while others have denied them because Wise is not a traditional bank.
You must provide an official statement (not a screenshot), and it is best to confirm the specific embassy's policy directly before applying.
Factors to consider
Embassy discretion: Each embassy or consulate has its own rules, so check with the specific one where you plan to apply.
Online vs. traditional bank: Wise is a financial technology service, not a traditional bank, which is the primary reason for potential rejection.
Official documentation: Ensure you provide a printed, official statement downloaded from the Wise website, not a screenshot from the app.
User experience: Anecdotal evidence shows success in locations like Hanoi and Athens, but also denials in other locations, especially with stricter embassies like the one in Malaysia.
Proof of funds: The requirement is to show at least 500,000 Thai baht in a bank account to cover a six-month stay.
Recommendation
Contact your embassy: The most reliable approach is to contact the specific Thai embassy or consulate where you intend to apply and ask if they accept Wise statements as proof of funds.
Consider alternatives: If your embassy does not accept Wise, you will need to use a traditional bank account that meets their requirements to show proof of funds.
you have chosen a bad example there my stressed out little friendβ¦.he hasnβt applied for a start, he says βifβ he applies and that is how he is interpreting what they say. Wise is fine. Itβs all good ππ
only the relevant embassy can tell you with a 100% guarantee how they regard savings in a WISE account. You, yourself, cannot give any reliable advice, and I NEVER said that my advice is 100% correct
πππ read your post again - you talk as if you know how every embassy views wise. Wise is fine as it meets the requirements. Stop misleading people
it depends. Since WISE is not a "real" bank but just a service provider, it could be denied. Revolut is a real bank - in Lithuania (or Lettland, I don't exactly remember)
we don't know for sure . .some embassies are known for not accepting it as financial proof. The OP didn't tell us through which embassy he will apply

Which embassy didn't accept Wise?

AI Scope which embassy have you asked who told you that you can?
I use WISE since they days it was called "Transferwise" for money transfers from my German bank account over the WISE Belgian bank account to my Thai SCB account. With WISE I get get more bucks for bang than with a SWIFT foreign transfer through my home bank. . . . . .The WISE transfers are through within a few minutes, as far as I can check it in my SCB online banking App! Additionally I take cash with me on every flight to Thailand and exchange it in the BKK Airport basement or at SiamExchange near the MBK Center in Bangkok, where I receive only marginally more than from a WISE transfer

Did you see anyone rejected or you wanna copy paste chatgpt responses?
There are many embassies that accept Wise and yes there are some who don't . No need to tell people to p off ...especially when they have not been rude to you.
p... off Andi Traveller ππ the amount of incorrect and half-witted advice, written as if confirmed by God and your Grandmother, coming from you since months, is absolutely amazing
you could search in the DTV Facebook group and find actual reports where a WISE account was rejected. Up to you. It doesn't hurt if you ask the embassy which you plan to use, for their policy regarding a WISE account
