Thanks in advance for the useful advice here:

I requested my landlord to do the TM.30 and instead of that, he gave me this police report instead. Is this valid in lieu of the TM.30??

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster asked if a police report provided by their landlord could be used instead of completing the TM.30 form, which is required for reporting a foreigner's residence in Thailand. Comments suggest that while a police report might provide some information, it is advisable to complete the TM.30 directly with immigration to ensure compliance, especially when transitioning between different visa types.

I did the same (police report) in 2017 on Visa exempt stay . As I told them (police) in 2018 I will stay on OA visa they suggested it's better to see Surat Thani immigrations. So I went there did my TM30 and got my receipt.

looks like he did that as of the 9th of Jan (or that's what it says).

I'd say that would work just fine

All he really needed to do was take a TM.30 form to them and have them stamp and initial the receipt that you get in your passport.

so in lieu of the TM.30, can I use this report in the event that I need to request for a residency certificate at immigration?
