Hi, how many times per year can you apply for a single entry visa? Is it possible to do 60 days + 30 day extension, do a visa/border run, re apply for a new single entry visa, rinse and repeat the same process 4 times per year?

TLDR : Answer Summary
In Thailand, there is no official limit to the number of single entry visas you can apply for within a year, but frequent applications might raise suspicions with immigration authorities. It's important to note that trying to live in Thailand on short term tourist visas could lead to rejection of future visa applications or denial of entry. For those looking to stay longer, a multi-entry tourist visa is recommended, as it reduces paperwork and the need to frequently apply for new visas. It's also suggested that staying outside of Thailand for a period before reapplying could help justify your travel intentions as purely tourist-related rather than attempting to reside in the country.
For the sake of argument, I would think that if you stayed for, say 1 month, out of the country, then came back in on another 60 day with extension, they would have a hard time saying that you’re trying to live in Thailand on tourist visas. It could just be your favorite tourist destination.
that would be up to immigration, technically 2 by land and I believe by air as many as U desire, until immigration say sorry U are not a tourist.and to get correct visa and denies you entry.
covid extension are another entire conversation lol. If you have been out of Thailand since you covid extension, then I would suggest you look at a multi entry visa from you home country. Depending on you plans. Merry Christmas
Ah okay so that will be a better option then. So you will only need to leave once out of Thailand once your multi entry visa expires, if you were to get 2 30 days extensions on the 60 days.
You cannot live in Thailand on short term visas. The embassies will start to reject your applications after a certain point, and even if they don't, immigration at the border will start asking you why you're trying to live in Thailand on an incorrect visa and deny you entry eventually, even if you were able to purchase a tourist visa.
I see, that’s when the elite visa or educational visa becomes an option then. Just want to test the waters before committing myself to other long term visas.
you can only get a multi entry tourist visa from your home country. But you can get the 270 from the METV which is valid for 6 months. You enter once for 60 + 30 day extension, then leave and re-enter for 60+30, then just before it expires you do it again for another 60+30.
