TLDR : Answer Summary
The frequency of visa runs on a regular 30-day tourist visa can vary. For visa exempt entries, it's generally accepted that you can do it twice within a calendar year by land or sea. If you're entering by air, there isn't a strict limit, but excessive entries may lead to questioning by immigration. For longer stays, it's advisable to consider obtaining the correct visa, such as the METV, which allows for multiple entries and longer durations in the country.

Bottom line... Get the correct Thai Visa for your planned stay in Thailand. Then you will have a plan without worrying about being DENIED entry.
If you are from the USA and age 50+... you can get the retirement visa. Or while you are looking at your options, suggest you get the METV multiple entry tourist visa in the USA. That can get you up to 9 months stay in Thailand with a couple simple land border bounces.
Use the search ๐ tool top of this forum page and enter METV in it.
CLICK on it and all posts about the METV will pop up to read the posts about it and experiences of others.
And just by the by, you're talking about border bounces, NOT visa runs. If you were doing visa runs you'd probably get away with it a lot longer

You can do as many as you like by air right up until an immigration officer says "No more. No entry" and then you have to book a flight out of the country whilst you are held at airport immigration.

Steve Smythe best answer. The rest of answer here assume they represent immigration
Guessing you mean a visa exempt entry? Twice in a calendar year by land or sea. Via air there is no set limit, but if you keep doing it and staying the full 30 days, expect to be questioned as to why you don't have a visa.
