TLDR : Answer Summary
A Maltese passport holder can theoretically enter Laos multiple times for a tourist visa if they opt for border hopping; however, they may face scrutiny if they attempt to repeatedly use tourist visas back-to-back. Generally, there are no limits stated officially, but being approved for each new entry may depend on meeting various requirements, such as proof of funds, onward travel, and local accommodation.

, keep in mind while you can "in theory" get an unlimited number of 15 day visa on arrivals (which are free until april 30th 2020) you can (and most likely will) be asked for proof of funds 20K baht or the equivalent in CASH, proof of onward travel within 15 days and proof of lodging. They are hard about those requirements for people who get the 15 day visa on arrivals.

correctly stated you can't bounce out and back in at every land crossing. Some won't let people who get VOA's do it. SO check before you go to bounce..

Hi! I just wanted to ask for future. Do they accept only cash proofs, or a signed document from my bank account would be enough?

1. If you go to Myanmar to get a tourist visa, you will get a 60 day tourist visa, same as Laos.

2. If you do a border hop, you'll get a 15 day visa on arrival, IF the border offers that option. Not all borders offer a visa on arrival

3. To my knowledge, I believe you can get unlimited visa on arrivals.

There is official no limit on the amount of tourist visa you can have in your passport. BUT more and more people get warned, denied tourist visa or denied entry as this tourist visa is not made to use back to back to stay long time. It will be a stressful game, but if you like to play it go for it, but have a plan B in place. Or rethink what you do in Thailand and how long you like to stay and get the visa that is made for that stay and purpose.
