Can UK passport holders still get Single Entry Tourist Visas from Laos?

Are visa exemptions by crossing into Laos and back to Thailand again still allowed?

I'm reading a lot of confusing and conflicting information about the boarders at Laos at the moment.

TLDR : Answer Summary
UK passport holders can obtain a Single Entry Tourist Visa from Laos if they meet certain qualifications. Additionally, they can still use the visa exemption rule by crossing into Laos and back to Thailand, which grants them a 30-day visa exemption extendable for another 30 days, provided they do not exceed the limit of two crossings per calendar year.

Yes, they can, if they meet the qualifications and the immigration officer is willing to sell one to you.

Yes, you can use most Lao borders to cross over (the ones that are closed you never heard of). You can cross over twice in a calendar year. Each time you cross you get a 30 day visa exempt, extendable by another 30 days at immigration.
