Hi all, how many days prior to my visa expiring can I go to immigration and apply for visa extension? The expiry date is in the middle of Vipassana retreat dates, so I would need to go to immigration approx 6 days before visa expires. Is this possible? Thanks in advance 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The timeline for applying for a visa extension in Thailand varies by location. For instance, in Bangkok, you can apply anytime after arriving, whereas other areas like Jomtien allow applications up to 7 days before the expiration date. To provide specific guidance, details about the type of visa and the extension sought are required.

It all depends on the local immigration office you use…every office has their own rules… good luck

Might help if you say what visa you have and what extension.

Did you actually get a 60 day visa or enter again on visa exempt being an aussie?

What visa do you currently have and what type of extension are you applying for? What’s your passport country?

Depends on location. Bangkok is anytime after you arrive. Jomtien for example, is 7 or less days before expiration.
