TLDR : Answer Summary
You can typically apply for a visa extension when you have 30 days or less remaining on your visa. However, some immigration offices may require you to apply when only 7 days are left, and this can vary depending on the type of visa and the specific office you are visiting.

most offices allow you to apply for an extension when you have 30 days or less.
BUT
Some want you to do it when you have a week or less.
Wanna say what of the 70+ offices you're going to use?

30 days, 45 days or sometimes due to many people only 7 days but that all depends on what kind of visa you have and at which office of the more than 70 nation wide you like to apply. Without information, I would advice visit your nearest Immigration Office and ask.
