Can any of you give me your personal experience regarding how long the ฿500,000 has to be in the account to apply for the DTV visa? I plan on applying in Taipei Taiwan, which is where I live. I would probably be able to put the money maybe a month before I apply for the Visa for specific reasons.

Also, are they very strict as far as how much you’re making per month as a freelancer? My monthly amount would be low, but I plan to show more than the 500k baht for better measure.

Thanks 👍

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the requirements for showing ฿500,000 in an account when applying for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Taipei. Several comments suggest that the time the money needs to be in the account varies, with some applicants stating it can be less than a month. However, there is caution about Taipei being a strict location for visa applications, and there are concerns about showing financial stability and sufficient income as a freelancer. Some participants recommend contacting the Thai Embassy in Taipei for specific guidance and checking community resources for further experiences.

I got mine as a freelancer in Taipei with low online income at that time but as you mentioned showed more than the 500k. Taipei does focus on being able to support yourself via employment or savings. I had the 500k in my account for less than a month, no problem. You should check the main DTV group on FB, you will find much more posts there about applying in Taipei there.

Andi Traveller thanks, so you found the process to be easy in Taipei? I would plan on putting more than 500k to show more independence, hopefully a month in the account is enough time

First of all Taiwan is one of the most strict places to apply, I live there and Thailand I'm an APRC and DTV holder 2nd of all , you putting it in there a month before that alone is 100% going to get you rejected, 2nd, You need to show stability legit. how much is "not that much"? You're going to get rejected fast , just being honest, you'll waste 10k

Josh Lee I’m also an APRC holder here. I heard it was supposed to be one of the most lenient embassies, but it’s mixed answers.

Josh Lee They do not reject for having the 500k less than a month. I had it less than a month and other applicants I know the same. It is one of the stricter embassies but once you find out what they need it is not too bad. Malaysia is way more difficult

Haven't seen many reports from Taipei in a long time but I believe the last was very little to no seasoning. Have you checked the Thai Embassy website there, or contact them?

In general there is no income requirement, but you're expected to show financial stability.

Wannikea Wanblee All that is fine, was just wondering how strict they were regarding length of time the 500k baht in the account needs to be. I will check with them tomorrow then. Thanks.
