For the soft power DTV, how long do we need to prove we have funds in savings accounts?
I’ve seen some say 3 months, some say 6 months.
Applying from UK.
Thank you 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a Soft Power DTV visa from the UK, the general requirement for proving funds in savings accounts appears to vary. Most embassies follow a guideline of three months of bank statements, although some individuals have reported being approved with only a single bank statement or without strict seasoning requirements. The documentation needed can depend on the specific embassy and individual circumstances, with some cases requiring three months of statements, while others have had success with recent deposits. Therefore, it's advisable to provide thorough documentation and be prepared for potential requests for additional information.
I got my DTV from the London Embassy and was required to show three months of bank statements, but I applied as a freelancer, not under soft power. My salary and savings are in separate accounts and I needed to show three months of statements for both of those accounts.
I think it’s on a case by case basis and you won’t necessarily be asked to provide the same. Send what you have, but be prepared to be asked for further documentation. I sent everything that was asked on the application, and was asked for more.
It depends on where you are applying from. When I applied at the Washington DC embassy, I transferred the money from my business account to my personal account a few days before I applied, then transferred it back when it was approved. I wasn't questioned about it.
I recently got my DTV from the London embassy and just showed one bank statement with the equivalent required funds in uk pounds , didn't need to show 3 months and was approved
