TLDR : Answer Summary
The grace period for electric bill payments in Bangkok can vary. Some commenters cited experiences where disconnection could happen after about 6 weeks post-due date, while others mentioned that there are options to request an extension of 7-14 days by contacting customer service. It's also noted that disconnections may no longer be done in person, but rather remotely, giving some leeway before the power is actually cut off.

My bill last month was 7,970 baht. Private house with six aircons, but one room not used and the other aircons only used when required. Also two 65" TVs one 50", four refrigerators and dozens of lights on in the evening. Thai style, the lights on everywhere. Also three washing machines, internet and lighting for chicken breeding.
The place I've had built over the years is like a ranch style. Single storey buildings everywhere. 😂 😂 😂.

My Bill doubled last month due to excessive heat. Fridge & air-conditioning compressors worked harder, nearly non-stop to provide the same level of temperature in March or February.
Something wrong with the meter. Had a similar issue when I lived in SaKaeo, they came and replaced the meter and it didn't happen again. Don't wait, talk to them now
I've experienced a similar situation where my bill was 7000, I was so shocked. I paid, but informed my landlord who asked them to come and check the meter. After much debate they installed a new meter and never again was my bill more than 3000.
You can call them and ask for extension , customer service speaks good English . Can get 7-14 days extension. They no longer come out to cut off but done remotely by computer so it could be 3 days late or 5. Best to call and ask for extension

Where is your meter BTW? If it's not in your Condo could someone else's supply have been connected to your meter following one of these service periods?
and since he’s most likely going to keep my deposit anyways it’s better that I spend it and then he takes it out of it because that’s probably the only way that I’ll get it back because you never get a deposit back in Thailand everybody should know that part, although in some circumstances I have
actually I have gotten my deposits back in Thailand, but a lot of other people don’t it’s kind of a thing that I’ve seen in the Expat form where people say don’t expect to get it back
I don’t think I’ll get it back this time because the owner didn’t make a valid contract but since he didn’t care about that, I don’t think he’s gonna care about returning my money, especially since I have to leave on the 28th and since the bill is not in my name and he’s not gonna return my money he can pay for it because he didn’t pay to clean the air conditioning. He didn’t fix the door knob when I came in here. He didn’t fix this. He didn’t fix that like seriously dude, this is place is not heaven
the thing is that I’m moving out of the condo near the end of the month and that’s not really anybody’s business but I guess it’s like I can’t just ask a question and get a straight answer because it was a straight question, how long is the grace period usually, and the answer isn’t to ask me a bunch of questions about my life situation in my life story really because it doesn’t matter
So what I wanna know is am I gonna spend two days without air conditioning? Do I need to leave two days earlier, but that’s not something I really need to explain to a bunch of people, that’s between bee and the person that I rented this from quite honestly because it’s their account. It’s not even my account .
Sometimes when people ask question, they just want an answer they don’t want like all these euphemisms about the electricity being hotter this month and how many air conditioning that you use and all this like that doesn’t like answer the question it just doesn’t and it’s not the point
So I wanna know if they’re gonna shut off so that I can tell the person who supposed to be managing this that barely manages it that they need to pay the power bill bill or it’s gonna get shut off
Chris, do you receive the bill directly from the electric company or from the main office of the Condo manager? 7000 baht is excessive. Definitely something wrong. Our Rent on our condo is 9,000 baht….

So chatting with my Thai wife tonight. She’s at our condo in Bangkok. I’am in Southern California for some business. She said it’s been record hot and our electric bill is 1250 baht last month. Yeah something’s up with the extremely high bill Chris.
it’s directly from the electric company. But the building did some emergency electrical work two times and shut off the power during the spilling cycle and all of a sudden it doubled and my usage has not changed
I asked because I wanna know how much time I have to fight it basically because I’ve read that people have had that happen and it gets adjusted but it takes some time.
The due date is listed as 13th-23rd and is double last month so I need to speak to them about it is why I went to know how long I have until they physically cut it off.
ok so is the problem high electricity bills? Oh btw last month (April) was the hottest ever in 157 years of record keeping. Using the aircon/s all day?
the bill is double of last months and I used the same amount of power. The bldg had electrical work done twice to fix a “problem “ where they had to shut it down so I suspect it is not correct.
It’s 7,000 baht it was 3,300 last month. It’s a 47 sq meter condo. Nothing has change in my use of power.
Of course shouldn't be that high but could be, what rate per unit you paying? maybe problem with AC, fridge etc. If it's your condo block issue others will also have issue
I’m not having the electricity shut off. I’m asking if you don’t pay the bill when do they shut it off? I don’t think you’re understanding the question.
