How can I pay my first electric bill from the Provinicial Electricity Authority (PEA) from my Bangkok Bank account mobile app. When I scan the barcode or scan\pay icon, I get the error message, "This payee is not found."

Looks like 7-Eleven will be the least complicated option. On their website, the show Bangkok bank but I can't find it in the mobile app.

The only PEA apps I see in the Android store is PEA Privilege and PEA VOLTA.

Update:

So, I changed the address on my google account to Pattaya and was able to get access to the Android Play store. I scanned the PEA SMART+ scan code on the back of the bill to bring up the app and was able to install it. Once in the app, selected "Add location" and entered the info for the condo I am renting. This will be two fields from your bill near the top of the bill: CA/Ref. No.1 and PEA No.

Sorry for no screenshots because the app won't allow it. There is a sample picture when you get to this screen showing the location of these fields and values.

It found my bill and went to pay it with Bangkok Bank and it gave me the error message, " transaction not allowed outside of transaction hours" or something like that!

I will try again tomorrow to see if this can be accomplished for us Bangkok Bank people in Pattaya Jomtien.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is encountering difficulties paying their first electric bill from the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) through the Bangkok Bank mobile app, receiving an error that indicates the payee is not found. Despite attempts to use the app and scanning the barcode on the bill, they were advised by other community members that Bangkok Bank does not support payments to PEA. Suggestions include paying the bill at 7-Eleven or using the PEA Smart app, as well as other payment options available like TrueMoney and Lazada. The conversation indicates a common issue for users of Bangkok Bank regarding PEA bill payments.

My Thai wife has the same issue with Bangkok Bank and PEA so she has to use another bank account which works fine with the barcode.

I've never been able to pay by BKK Bank app. Always 7-11 or Lotus.

Its not linked although Provisional Water is—anyway tired of fighting with Bkk for 2 years—found an option though—Shopee Pay—go to bills and follow the prompts—our Pea only takes cash—so i must go to atm then to Pea—really a joke🙈🙈🙈🙈

You can also pay on Lazada for 5 baht. You go to account then click bills and telco.

Not all bank apps allow it.

Or….you download the PEA Smart app. You can pay through many options: (True Money, Rabbit etc). It may even have an option to pay via visa, but I’m not sure as my bill is up to date and can’t see the payment options anymore

This is the way. I even just paid a power bill back in Thailand while in America using the PEA app.

You can't pay that bill with BKK bank. It's literally the only bank that doesn't let you pay PEA bills.

Take your bill to any 7-eleven or tops daily and pay there. Or ask someone with another bank to pay it for you.
