When using your computer to navigate the non o retirement visa process ( evisa website )

How do you upload requested documents into the required fields

Should you take pics of passport and utility bills and bank statements onto your mobile device and then pair phone to pc and upload from there

Any further advice would be appreciated

TLDR : Answer Summary
To upload documents for the Non-O retirement visa on the eVisa website, you can take photos of your passport, utility bills, and bank statements using your mobile device. It is advisable to either upload these images directly from your phone or transfer them to your computer. Techniques shared in the community include using Google Drive for scanning, emailing images to yourself, and converting scanned documents into PDF or JPEG formats for easier upload.

or you could take photo with your phone.. send yourself an email with the images attached... access your email on your laptop/pc then save the images to a file... open up the images in your photo program to crop/edit as needed... then save as jpeg file... this is what I did recently when I uploaded for the Non O visa for thai family spouse... took about 9 days for embassy Los Angles to grant the visa..

sending in email also has the advantage of reducing the size of images so they are within the 3mb limits.

Use screen capture, or snip it to select parts of document and save the multiple parts to word document. When completed print and save to pdf. Upload pdf to selected parts

I use the Google drive app on my phone which has a scan feature built in. Visit drive.google on your PC to download, this is assuming you have a Gmail account

I scan them and add as a PDF file.

I need to get this right first time

Don't want visa application refused for document failure

@Paul ******
that won't happen! The uploaded files are rejected immediately by the system if they can't be read or not approved and then you just do it again until they are accepted and continue with your application

try to apply with your phone as there's a Google scan app in your phone. If you take pictures there's a chance the photos images may exceed the upload data limitation.

I don't have a printer connected to my home pc

Can I scan documents at a work pc and then email them to my home pc

Scan anything you need with your phone's scan app., then if your pc has Bluetooth copy to your pc. If your pc doesn't have Bluetooth connect to pc with usb cable, once your pc recognises your phone open the phone in My Computer or such like, then open the phones storage and find the scans and copy and paste them to your pc.

you can scan documents on your phone - I use CS (camscanner) but there are many others. Of course you don't print your documents - you upload them.

I crop them until they fit.

I don't think it's about cropping, more to do with the pics not being wide enough to show all information

many people only do their visa via phones not computers so the picture must be ok. I can comfortably take a picture of things and make them all fit with my phone. Move phone fwd or back use zoom it works.

I'm hearing that pics taken on a mobile device don't fit well on the evisa website something to do with the width of the images not being correct
Graeme ******
@Paul ******
yes that can happen but you can change the picture size on your phone to reduce it to less than 3mb, also note they don't like the photos if they are too small I.e just a few kb as they aren't clear enough

@Paul ******
The bio page and mugshot may need to be in jpg/jpeg format. Other supporting documents normally okay in that or pdf. There might be a max like 3 MB for images.

@Paul ******
more probably the actual file size, need to use resize to let it be accepted. I have had this issue.
