How do I request a multi-entry permission with my Temporary Stay Extension in Thailand?

I have an Extension of Temporary Stay based on a Non O Retirement Visa. I have always had a single entry in previous years. On my next Extension of Temporary Stay I would like to get a multi entry. Looking at the Extension of Temporary Stay TM7 form, I can't see anywhere to request this. Do you know if I should ask for the multi entry at Immigration when submitting the TM7 request form? Also, if I am granted the Extension of Stay with multi entry, do I have to complete an Application for Re-entry Permit TM8 form every time before leaving Thailand? Many thanks in advance for your advice.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Extension of Temporary Stay under a Non O Retirement Visa does not inherently include a request for a multi-entry permit on the TM7 form. You should inquire about the multi-entry option at the Immigration office when you submit the TM7 form. If granted the Extension with multi-entry, you must fill out a TM8 form for each re-entry permit before leaving Thailand.

all extensions of stays inside the country are sold as NO ENTRY :O <- that's because you're already IN the country when you get it.

An extension and a re-entry permit are totally separate things and require two separate forms (a TM7 for the extension and a TM8 for the re-entry permit).

Once you get your extension inked into your passport you then make the appropriate copies fill out the TM8 re-entry permit application and BUY either a single re-entry permit for 1000baht (that lets you leave/come back ONCE) or a multiple re-entry permit for 3800baht that lets you leave/come back all you want during the year your extension is valid for

Two different things. You request to stay 1 year longer in Thailand using the TM7 form, application of extension of temporary stay. If you have this 1 year of stay stamped in your passport you can apply for a single or multiple Re-Entry Permit to travel abroad and on return get the same permitted up to date stamped in your passport. The application form for this permit is the TM8, only needed to apply, if you apply and get the multiple re-entry permit, you can leave and come back when ever you like as long as you come back before the permitted up to date.

Once you get your extension of stay, you need to pay for a multiple reentry permit.

. So I take it that I complete an Application for Re-entry Permit TM8 form before my first departure from Thailand to then gain a multi entry. Do I then complete a TM8 form before every departure?
