Hello, I'd like to ask a few questions :) I have a work permit & an extension of stay, both valid until Feb 2021. I'll go back to my home country soon and therefore planning on getting a re-entry permit - I'll continue working online for my employer though. I don't know when I'll come back to Thailand yet so could I also give back my work permit in my home country at a Thai Embassy when it expires? Do I have to cancel my work permit while I'm still in Thailand? Can I just leave Thailand with a re-entry permit or do they potentially wanna see more documents like tax stuff at the airport? Thank you in advance! :)

Answer summary

The user is asking about the procedure for managing their work permit and obtaining a re-entry permit before leaving Thailand. They want to know if they can return their work permit from their home country, if they need to cancel it while still in Thailand, and what documents they might need at the airport when leaving.

If it was me, I'd say take the work pemit with you and if you don't get back before it runs out just mail it back to your employer..

Yep, get a re-entry permit BEFORE you stamp out and it will keep your extension valid in case you come back before it expires
