If you apply for OA visa 1 yr retirement and they ask for insurance purchase how does it work if your not sure of the date you will go to Thailand as the visa allows 1 year to enter. Most insurance online asks for start and end date. Thanks for any help.

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for an OA visa for retirement in Thailand, it's crucial to have valid insurance for the duration of your visa. If you're unsure of your entry date, you can approximate one. Keep in mind that the insurance should be valid for at least as long as your visa. You must enter Thailand within 90 days of visa issuance. It's also mandatory to be over 50 to apply for this visa.

I have a package that meets both the
******
k long-stay requirement and the 100Kusd inbound "covid" requirement in one shot. Not age sensitive. One year 25K to 40K depending on where you are coming from. Approved by foreign affairs here. Gauranteed for your CoE.

Also you must be over 50 to apply for OA retirement

Your insurance must be valid for as long as your visa is valid. Usually you must enter within 90 days the first time, or the visa expires

If you're not sure, put a reasonable guess and attempt to stick to it. I think I'm right that, if your insurance runs out after less than a year (for example 49 weeks), you'll get stamped in until it expires, ie not the full year.

You are quite correct. I went on the 16th of this month to renew my retirement OA visa. My insurance started on December 1st. Expiration date of my new OA is December 1st 2021.
