I will be getting married in the UK next year to my thai fiancé.....just thinking a head if I got offered a job in Australia and relocated. How would that affect me and my wife. Would she be able to come Australia with me? Guessing she would have to get an Australian visa. I won't be classed as a citizen so not sure how it would work. Or if actually possible. And info would be appreciated thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the process and implications of moving to Australia with a Thai fiancé after marriage in the UK. Key points include the necessity for the fiancé to apply for an Australian visa, specifically a spouse visa which may have a lengthy processing time and substantial costs. Suggestions are made to consult the Australian High Commission for accurate information, and members share experiences and insights regarding timelines and costs associated with spousal visas.

Sounds like a ball ache and extra unnecessary expenses ahead. You’d have to apply for a fiancé visa for U.K. and then go through the entire process of her getting an aus visa. Double fees. Do you really need to marry in the U.K.?

ah ok, got you. Things are ever changing to be fair, especially with Aus and entry requirements/ timeframes. Just do as you planned and access again when the time comes. Who knows where the world will be in 2 years mate…

there is a very long wait at least 2 years ++ for a spousal visa and she can not be in Australia, I believe the cost is about AUD17k + Best you go to the DFAT website or ask a good agent

The fact that she is Thai would have no bearing on it - like you, she would have to apply for an Australian visa.

Probably better off asking on an Australian visa group but at a guess she'd probably need a dependent visa. Also, speak to your employer as they may also provide support.
