For those who applied using an agent

Every visa application has a case number. Did your visa agent give you yours?

If not, how do you know your visa isn't forged?
Answer summary
The post discusses concerns about verifying the authenticity of a Thai visa obtained through an agent. Key points include the necessity of receiving an application case number from the agent, the distinction between the visa number and the application number, and the risks associated with using agents. Several users shared their experiences, emphasizing the importance of reputable agents and having access to application details. The consensus is that many applicants can complete the process independently, and that agencies largely provide assistance with auxiliary services instead.

My agent is excellent 2 yes on retirement visa now, does 90 reporting automatically, messaged it down to me to print off.

No fuss

If you can’t afford agent, you can’t afford Thailand. What’s wrong with sharing some bread for some work done.

My agent advised the pros and con for applying at every land border. Told me to use the correct documents to prevent embassy requesting additional documents costing time.

Even helped me get a clearance certificate from my local police before I even reached home country.

With that I got approved in 2 business days which I haven’t heard anyone approved so quickly.

Do not pay an agency for a DTV unless you specifically need assistance with auxiliary services related to Soft Power (like qualified activities).

Otherwise, there is very little, if anything, an agency can do to improve your application. In many cases, involving an agency may simply add unnecessary risk, cost, and delay to the process.

For most applicants, applying directly through the official eVisa system is the safest and most straightforward option.

And yes, we are a visa agency. We have assisted with thousands of eVisa cases, and we regularly try to avoid taking on DTV applications because, in most cases, they are simple enough to handle yourself.

If you only need help reviewing document requirements, LLMs and reputable Facebook groups are generally more than enough. There is usually no reason to spend hundreds of dollars on an agency for this type of application, especially when the official eVisa portal itself is fairly straightforward to use.

You can not use an agent. You need to apply from your home country now. It’s very lazy when the process is easy to do your self

Why use an agent? Are you illiterate? I am 79 years old and applied for a DTV visa myself; with a little patience, it’s within everyone's reach. I got it in 15 days from the embassy in Paris.

Agents are useless. Utterly useless. Do it yourself if you meet the requirements. With help from Claude. I suspect a lot of agents like Issa Compass are using shill accounts here to advertise themselves. Incoming attacks.

Lester Ma Agents are not useless if you need auxiliary services, such as assistance with connecting with reliable Soft Power activities.

But otherwise, yes, paying an agency simply to review your documents is generally a waste of money these days. Between Facebook groups and AI, most applicants should be able to confirm the document requirements themselves.

The eVisa system has also improved significantly over time. It is still not perfect, but the application process is much clearer and more straightforward than it used to be.

I agree. This is a reasonable comment instead of the usual "I used Issa Compass no issues at all" promotional scams. Read their Trustpilot reviews. They are using this group to run paid shills, and I have a problem with that because the group is no longer impartial.

Never used an agent and never will. However, one will know real quick if the visa is f@ke (I'm quoting the OP: "If not, how do you know your visa isn't førg€d?"). Besides, one is supposed to be able to show the approval e-mail to airlines staff if asked to. So I guess even if you apply through an agent, the agent has to give the applicant's e-mail address.

That’s real dumb I don’t think this would work cus it’s in their system to check not just going off a piece of laminated paper you show. I keep mine just on my phone but several times I haven’t even been asked to show it cus the IO can see it on their computer.

If you use an agent for a DTV you deserve to be scammed because you are not very bright to begin with

Is to simple for using an agent …….

Giasai😉 We actually try to turn clients away when their case only requires document review and they do not need any supporting activities or additional services.

At the moment, you would have to push us pretty hard to even accept a case that is limited to basic document review.

However, if you need help with parts of the DTV process that are genuinely difficult - such as in-country extensions, where we can provide meaningful assistance - then that is a completely different story.

the number on the visa itself that they will send you ..

Precision: I'm not talking about the visa number.

When you apply on the website, it automatically creates an application number.

For example: PAR-XxXXXXXXXX

All applications have a number, no matter what.

It's not the visa number. It's the application number. They are different, even after the issuance of the visa.

My question is: during the application process with an agent, did the agent forward you your application number?

Or did he just said "I applied" and you trusted him?

StunningDeer1930 you should have the e-Visa portal login to check the status of your application and as well to download the Visa in the future. Personally I wouldn't want them doing the application from their own portal login.

guidance on exactly what paperwork will get approved at which embassy.

With the new rule, the agency's relevance is less, because half the reason they add value, is having experience working with specific embassies, where they know exactly the type of presented documentation they want at that location. We see a lot of inconsistency in what is required where- and an agent streamlines this by having organized so many approved applications at specific embassies. Sometimes someone would apply and be requested a bunch of follow-up paperwork required that no one else was being asked for. So it's more like the agency gives the blueprint of 'this bundle gets approved consistently here', and then goes over what you have to make sure it'll fit the criteria correctly.

StunningDeer1930 and why are you posting this? We have seen no such reports of a f@ke DTV visa.

It has been reported that Thai Embassies and Consulates are aware of fraudulently prepared bank account statements submitted with the DTV visa application. Resulting in closer examination of the bank account documents and DENIED applications. .
Sujy *********
Sujy *********
In brief, immigration officers dont f@ke the stamps. if its f@ke, it mean that your agent himself used a machine at his home or wtv to f@ke stamps that were not real (but very similar to real one). I always advice people to use reputable agents.
Sujy *********
Sujy *********
StunningDeer1930 I did. Real agent provide real stamps from officers. If your visa is f@ke, you will be deported upon trying to leave the country (and b@nned for a long time). So when a visa is f@ke, it mean that the agent never went through an immigration officer.

na some of them agents have people in Immigration, they pay them to make it ledgit… Same as the agents for visa run, they bring to a border where they know the Immigration officers that you get 100% the stamp, thats why I am a Fan of the Elite Visa, less Risk and Problems and you only need to pay and thats it Nothing more
Sujy *********

legit or make it legit is the same ending. how you got the visa is a bit irrelevant if you get a real stamp. as long as bank provide certificate to said agent, you are technically doing everything by the book.
