I'm on a Non O visa (Thai spouse). It expires mid January 2025 and I have to leave Thailand early February for about 6 weeks which is during the under consideration period of the visa renewal.
I'm sure I'm not the first in this predicament and a search has indicated that I just take my problem to the immigration dept when I apply for the renewal. Is this correct?
Can I apply early December and bring the whole process forward?
Thanks
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user holds a Non O visa based on their Thai spouse, expiring in January 2025, and needs to leave Thailand for 6 weeks in early February during the visa renewal consideration period. They are wondering if they can apply for renewal in December and seek guidance on the process. Responses suggest that typically one can apply for an extension when 30 days or less remain on the visa. It is crucial to inform the immigration officer about the planned departure and possibly secure a single re-entry permit to maintain the visa status while abroad.
