ORIGINAL POSTER
Transferring O/A to O retirement visa:

My O/A retirement visa expired yesterday so I flew to Phnom Penn and returned today to DMK Airport armed with loads of back-up paperwork Flight booking out of Thailand Covid 19 VAX certificate and 20,000 baht in cash.

I was greeted by an extremely polite I.O. Officer who asked to see absolutely NOTHING.

She stamped my passport with a 45 day exempt and said welcome back Mr. Malcolm.

Thanks to the group for the help and advice on this subject especially Todd and James βœ”πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ™πŸ»

Glad it worked congrats

So you exited the country on an OA visa stamp and you re-entered on a visa exempt? Ahh I see you were just getting off the OA to go to the in country O visa/extension.

Not that many people are hassled at all doing that bounce out and back. The immigration officers at passport control know good and well the new insurance on OA/OX is 3 million baht (100USD) up from what it was. They have seen many people do the same thing to get off an OA and go to standard O visa/extension without the insurance πŸ™‚

I think in the not too distant future it will require insurance as well, but that’s just my feeling.
