My wife and I plan on moving to "most likely " Hua Hin. I will be utilizing the retirement visa. My wife still works remotely but is over 50 and wants to continue her job. What would be the best visa for her? We cannot do the LTR. I understand the DTV but am getting confused if she isn't allowed back in just because of possible weird circumstances some of the DTV's are going through. I appreciate any advice. Thanks

There are many that have forged documents to allow them to apply, these people might well get caught out further down the line if they raise suspicions and they cannot satisfy the IO upon entering (same for any visa), if you are genuine, have the correct ongoing paperwork to support your application, IE back statements, tax records, invoices, you shouldn't have any issues. ingore the BS, just apply for the DTV as you were planning.
There are only 2 visas that explicitly allow remote work in Thailand, and that's the DTV and LTR.
If your wife does not qualify for LTR, then DTV is the only one that would allow working remotely in Thailand. There are no issues entering Thailand if you are able to prove the reason you applied for the DTV are still valid if asked (very rare).
Many people also work remotely in other types of visas and just don't bring attention to themselves. Not technically legal, also not technically illegal. It's a grey area. But there are fully legal options available.
