London Embassy: Soft Power - Muay Thai
Approved! Thanks to Tiger Eye (Tiger Eye Martial Arts)
Timeline:
* 10 July: Application submitted
* 13 July: Additional documents requested
* 14 July: Documents uploaded
* 15 July: This is where things got interesting. The embassy advised that my βactivityβ did not meet the Soft Power requirements.
The gym I originally applied through had helped many previous applicants obtain the DTV. It turned out they no longer held a valid Muay Thai licence, and were not registered with the relevant boxing authority.
Over the next few days, the embassy requested further documents. It became clear that the gym could not provide to me what was required, so I realised I needed to change providers.
The important point is that my application was never cancelled. I was able to change gyms part-way through the application process, without having to submit a whole new application, or pay another embassy fee.

* 23 July: Contacted them and paid - They were incredible and had all of my documents ready that evening.
* 24 July: Uploaded the new documents to the Thai Visa portal.
* My application changed to "Pending Approval" later that day.
* 26 July: Approved!
I honestly can't thank the team at Tiger Eye enough. Bashir (Bashir Ahmad) was incredibly responsive on WhatsApp, answered every question I had, and made sure I had everything the embassy required.
My advice is to do your research before choosing a gym. In my case, the embassy had already accepted my flight itinerary and bank statements, so it was clear the only issue was with my Soft Power provider, and not my finances.
Hopefully this helps anyone who finds themselves in the same situation.
