APPROVED - VIENTIANE - MUAY THAI - 6 MONTHS
July 6 - Arrived in Vientiane
July 7 - Online application submitted
July 8 - Application fee paid in cash
July 10 - Additional document request: Bank application screenshot with name (on Wise, this is not possible. So I wrote down my name on a paper with date and put it next to the Wise main screen. Took the photo with another phone.) and physical card photo. (I opened my virtual Wise card from the app and took another photo.)
July 14 - Status changed to "Pending Approval"
July 15 - Status changed to "Interview Request"
July 16 - Interview date sent by email, for July 27 (Huge frustration as 11 days in Vientiane is a lot :D )
July 27 - Interview and approval within 2 hours. No METV, approved in DTV.
Questions:
What's your name?
What's your gym name?
Why did you choose this gym?
Why Muay Thai?
Why Thailand?
Did you rent a place?
Where you gonna stay?
Be ready to show your bank account, and note that if I would not bring an additional bank statement with me that is showing the required amount for the last 6 months, I would be rejected. This is exactly what I heard in my interview. Because on Wise it shows the money for a month only. I did that to generate an English document, but do not think that it is okay to have it in your account for a month just because they did not reject you without an interview. So, I guess, have it for at least 3 months in your account.
If you think your submitted documents are not enough, and you got aware of that while waiting for your interview date, do not worry. Go to your interview in a better shape and explain them your situation. Be self-confident.
I've been requested to show my documents prepared by the gym. Print them out and take with you. There were printers next to the building, but I suggest to be prepared before going there.
As I had prior experience in combat sports, I've been requested to show pictures of me related to them. I had no memory in my phone, but I showed the pictures of the gym taken from my phone.
I'm telling again: DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME & MONEY IF YOU CAN SHOW THE MONEY FOR A SHORT TERM ONLY.
Don't forget to print out your visa approval. Have required amount of cash with you when you enter Thailand.
Huge thanks to everyone posted their experiences here. I would not get my visa without those feedbacks.
