TLDR : Answer Summary
It is not possible to renew a marriage visa in Thailand as there is no such process; however, you can apply for a new 1-year Extension of Stay based on marriage with a Thai national. If you do not meet the financial requirement of 400,000 THB in your bank, you can instead show an income of 40,000 THB per month, verified by a letter from your embassy, or provide proof of three months' tax payments of that income while in Thailand. Alternatively, you can apply for a 1-year Non Immigrant O visa at certain Thai consulates without the financial requirements.

ou can show an income of 40,000 Thai baht per month by obtaining a letter of confirmation from your associated Embassy,

Some embassies do not verify your actual income, they will certify whatever you submit. I know of a French guy who made a mistake and got certified that his income was 40,000€ per month. You might want to check with yours.

@Robert ******
hi

What do you mean.....3 months tax payments???

@Robert ******
thank you
Robert *******
If you work inside Thailand you get salary, from that salary a part is tax, you pay monthly at the tax office. With 3 of those receipts of paid tax during the last three months you can show proof of income, next to this you have to provide more documents.

, I like to keep information in the group, not by PM. I can give you advice on Visa or Extension of Stay, not travel advice how to get to the consulate.

At most immigration offices your wife/dependant needs to actually attend for the 60 day extention of stay

@Robert ******
i think the letter is needed for the 60 day's extension visiting the wife.

I have visa until January next year but need to renew it so I can stay one year more

In Savannakhet, copy marriage papers signed by both, copy id of partner and copy housebook of partner, both signed by partner. Invitation letter from partner, copy your passport, passport pictures and the fees as I remember correctly. Hope that some others will add if I forget something.

If you can not meet this income requirement you can apply for a 1 year Non Immigrant O visa based on marriage with a Thai National at the Thai Consulate/Embassy in Seoul, Savannakhet or Ho Chi Minh, thes 3 have no financial requirements.

Ok now I understand. 90 days in n out of country, instead of a 90 day report inside Thailand. Cheers
@Robert ******
Robert *******
You can apply and get a 1 year Visa at these consulates, Yes, you come back into Thailand get 90 days of stay, go to a border, stamp out, in/out neighbor country, stamp into Thailand for a new 90 day stay as long as this visa is valid for.
Mark *********
Excuse my ignorance. But don't you then have to return to Thailand and visit your local immigration office for them to process, which will then ask for 400k in the bank etc.
Robert *******
You can not renew a marriage visa, no such thing inside Thailand. But you can apply for a new 1 year Extension of Stay if you have minimum 40.000 Thb income from abroad certified by your Embassy or 3 months tax payments of this income when inside Thailand.
