Has anyone gotten any luck with opening a bank account with the DTV visa?
Went to 4 banks (3 Bangkok Bank and 1 Kasikorn) today and each said they can't open it with the DTV.
Has anyone gotten the account with the DTV?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the difficulties expats are facing in opening bank accounts with a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Thailand. Several users share their experiences in trying to open accounts at various banks, such as Bangkok Bank and SCB, highlighting that many banks are not yet familiar with the DTV visa requirement. Suggestions include bringing additional documentation like lease agreements or contacting banking agents for assistance. Some users report mixed results, with a few having success, while others continue to struggle, indicating that it's a topic under active discussion among those using this visa.
It's strange my friend wants the DTV but his bank said he needs a work visa to open foreign currency acct to receive payment from suppliers.
Which technally the DTV is a special work visa, I've been told you can work if you notify and receive permission Thai labor department with dvt visa, as in non digital or Thai specific work...
I opened my Bangkok Bank acct on a 30 tourist visa my second time here in 1 afternoon i had to by life insurance thru them per Thai rule. Which was about 7k baht or something

Asked around Asok area, in Exchange Tower Bangkok Bank I was told that the management of the bank is looking into this new visa, they haven't made their decision yet and they asked me to come a couple weeks later.
Thai people (bank clerks included) have zero idea about Thai visas, 90 day reports etc. So each bank have a 1-pager listing falang visa types eligible, if there's no match, then you get mai dai, no one will google DTV or anything like that. These instructions are updated every 3 years at best, so give it some time, quite some time.
Long time ago I tried to open a bank account while being on Thailand Elite visa. It had been around for 3 years already, but it wasn't mentioned in the bank internal guides. After lengthy arguing I was told there was no such type of visa, and it was fake.
Try Krungsri Bank at the Central. You can also use your ATM cards and credit cards for all purchases. I now exclusively use US ATM cards for cash and US credit cards for all purchases.

For DTV who cannot open an account, you may have to contact an agent.
Did you bring a copy of your lease or residency document, thai license can help? What supporting documents did you bring besides your visa and a passport?
which visa doesn't matter, it's a numbers game. You can hoof it till you drop or get lucky, or get an agent in Bangkok, or take a morning trip to Pattaya for an agent to fix you up the same day
yes I know that and I'll keep trying..but I'm asking specifically if anybody did it with the DTV...as the banks have been saying they cannot do it with DTV.
Again...I know somebody will do it...I'm just asking if anybody has had any success as yet.
