TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has a DTV visa and is facing difficulties opening a bank account to facilitate the purchase of a condo in Bangkok. Commenters provide various insights, suggesting that buying a condo may not necessitate having a bank account as direct transfers to real estate companies are permissible. Some emphasize the challenges related to DTV visas, stating banks generally do not open accounts for tourist visas. Additional advice includes considering the condo market saturation and alternative methods like utilizing applications for money transfers.
I have a thai bank with scb that I opened on my own without an agent when I had a student visa. Now I have a dtv . I cant purchase a condo with this account ??? You gotta be kidding me
Go to other country and buy. They don't support your live in Thailand with DTV. I bought Condo too but I moved to other country. You don't have account so st hard for you. 😁.
You don't need to have a bank account to buy a condo. Transfer money directly to a real estate company or pay with cash. Many tourists buy condos during their vacation without any bank accounts. Just consult with your real estate agent
Show your contract that you will buy a condo. They will give you an account. You need to send the money in that account. To buy a confo in forrign Quota you need proof from the bank you send the money
if you are really considering buying a condo look into freehold and leasehold because many are leasehold what i advise not to do. most of the time you dont need a thai bank use appllications like wise. also look very well at the location and ground price what it did in the past because value of a place is mostly based on that nothing else.
Vincent Kenn wise has borderline criminal fees. I had to pay even to transfer my own wise balance back to my bank without changes to currency even. I wish I knew of better options
