Hi all 🙂

Me and my partner are looking and staying long time in Thailand in October we are going to be based in Krabi

We would like to come on an educational visa and learn Muay Thai

Has anyone got any recommendations on how to get started? Who to contact? Or any schools that can help the whole process for us

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thank you :)

Educational Visa does not include Muay Thai but DTV does so you may want to look at those requirements

If you are over 50, you can also look at non-o visa based on retirement

@Anna ********
she says the embassy told her it's educational, but I didn't think so.

@Lynnette ******
everything I’ve ever read it’s not included

We all forget that even immigration and embassy staff can make mistakes and often we misunderstand😀
Lynnette *******
I may be wrong but didn't think Muay Thai was "educational". Maybe DTV would be a better route? Valid 5 years, 180 days each entry.

@Lynnette ******
we’ve been in contact with the embassy and a few different schools they said it is educational.

Do you have to have a certain amount of money in each bank account for DTV?

@Matilda ****
Iy you and your partner are not married then two separate DTVs are required with 500k equivalent each

@Matilda ****
look at the list of requirements from the embassy you're applying at, there should be info online application form.
