Hi all, Iโ€™m trying to get my head around the retirement visa requirements. If I get my visa in Hua Hin do I have to stay there for the full term of the visa or can I move around and just do the 90days at any immigration office?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual inquiring about retirement visa requirements wants to know if they must remain in Hua Hin after obtaining their visa, or if they are free to move around Thailand and report their presence at any immigration office. Responses indicate that initially, after applying for a NON-O visa in Hua Hin, it is necessary to stay in that province to complete the application process and obtain a year extension. Once the processes are complete, the individual can then move to any location in Thailand.

These are the common found steps in getting the Non O Visa as retiree and the One year extension of stay as retired INSIDE THAILAND

Once you get the year extension you can move where ever you want to and you do 90 day reporting at that office from then on

You don't do a 90 day report on a Non-O Visa obtained in Thailand, you must be on an Extension of Stay

If you're comin' into the country and going to apply for BOTH the 90 day Non-O visa and then the year extension after that, you will have to stay in that province to get the process done. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

I say that because most offices will not let you get a year extension on a 90 day Non-O gotten from another office in a different province ๐Ÿ˜•

The time line works like this:

1 - Apply for the Non-O visa (2000baht) get a 2 week review date

***wait 2 weeks

2 - go back get the Non-O visa and new 90 day stamp inked in

***wait 2 months

3 - go back apply for the year extension (1900baht)

So you'd need to 'camp out' for a couple months at least to get thru the process, then you're free to move where ever you want.
