Hi knowledgeable people. My 90 day type B expires next week - is it possible to get a 30 day extension in country? Have a feeling that I can't but would just like to double check......

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about the possibility of obtaining a 30-day extension for their Non-B visa, expiring soon. The consensus from the comments is that while a direct 30-day extension is typically not available, travelers can apply for a year-long visa extension or consider reapplying for a new Non-B visa if they are unable to gather necessary documents before expiration. If married or having a child, a 60-day extension option may also be available. The work permit remains valid regardless of visa changes.

I got the 30 day 'under consideration' stamp - they didn't ask for the missing document (my latest income tax return) so I didn't mention it. Not sure if that was the correct thing to do or not!

(y) you should be fine then. I haven't seen a B visa extension application go under consideration and then not be approved for the year.

Cheers Tod. Am at Chaengwattana now - will see if I get lucky!

Okay, now that's a different story :O (maybe). I'd go to the immigration office and see if they can take what you have and give you a 30 day "under consideration" stamp so you can get the remaining document to them and get the year.

I have seen it happen (very, very rarely).

No, your work permit is fine, and if you can't get the year extension you can certainly go get another 90 day Non-B.

Nope :/ , with Non-B's you can either apply for a year extension or get that 7 day get outta thailand extension denied one.

But I'd still need all the other standard supporting documents right?

Your WP stays in effect - it has its own ending date. You take your WP with you to get a new B Visa

Balls. I already have my work permit but am missing a document needed for my 1 year extension. Apparently there's no time to get this before my type B expires. If I go and get a new type B is my work permit still good or will that be affected as well?
