What additional documents do I need for my Thai tourist visa and will a failed application affect my future entry?

Hi, I have applied tourist visa online n got the email to provide additional document to proceed further :

1, address for my stay 60 days in thai — originally I showed the first hotel that I stayed few days as I want to find hotels after landed; should I really need to book 60 days hotel to attach such documents

2, invitation letter from thai people (how to get this or what the content)

If I didn’t attach such additional document, will my record of failed tourist visa to be showed n affect my entry when landed in thai ? I plan to apply Retire visa in thai after landed in fact. Thanks for add advice!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has applied for a tourist visa to Thailand online and received a request for additional documents, including proof of accommodation for 60 days and an invitation letter from a Thai resident. They are uncertain if they need to book a hotel for the entire duration or can provide an alternative arrangement. They also express concern about the impact of a potentially unsuccessful tourist visa application on their future travel plans, particularly in relation to a planned retirement visa after arrival. Community members suggest booking a hotel with free cancellation and raising questions about why the user is opting for a tourist visa rather than directly applying for a retirement visa.

the first hotel is free. Do you have a Thai friend to write a letter of invitation?

Why are you applying for a tourist visa when over 92 countries get a free 60-day visit exempt entry? What country is your passport and where are you applying through?

This is quite strict, but still not entirely unusual. May I ask where you are applying from?

If you want a retirement visa why did you apply for a tourist visa? Easier to get a retirement visa when not in Thailand.

Book a hotel with free cancellation through Agoda. Once you get the visa, cancel the booking.
