CUSTOMS Extension with Tourist Visa โ€”

I arrived in March on a Malay-registered vehicle, and have diligently extended my customs form each month. Normally, you can do this only once, but, because of Covid, I have been able to extend it each month. They tell me that this was the LAST time and that the vehicle needs to leave the country in November. I am on an American passport.

Anyone else in this situation? Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the challenges faced by an expat with a Malay-registered vehicle in Thailand, specifically regarding the extension of a customs form which should typically only be done once but has been extended monthly due to Covid-19. The poster is informed that this will be the last extension and that the vehicle needs to leave by November, raising concerns among community members about current border restrictions and transport options.

Goods can be transported across borders restrictions apply. Its been happening through Malaysia Thailand and Singapore all through this Pandemic.

You can also ship via sea.

David, you had a point?

you need to listen to what they are telling you.

The vehicle needs to leave or you will lose it and be fined for illegal importation.

, he stated the obvious and I wondered whether he had any real point to make. You, however, are trying to tell me that I will lose my bike, and not just pay the

baht fine? That would be news.

I was referring to Customs and excise. You cannot even import the bike, second hand any longer.

There isn't any pay 10,000 baht and carry on.

They will take the bike to the pound and destroy it as an illegal import.

That's why they are telling you to get it out of the country.

, Are you aware there is a pandemic? They extended the declaration period 8 months and you seem to think there is no way they will extend it further. I have been told about the 1000 Baht / day fine by more than one Thai customs officer, of which I do not believe you are one. Are you really an idiot or just acting like one?

Thank you, but I do not want to leave Thailand until the pandemic ends, or at least until the borders open for travelers, and I can make my way to Europe.

Easier said than done with no open land borders. Maybe there thinking of teleportation. ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”
