Can I extend my Thai customs declaration for a foreign vehicle more than once?

THAI CUSTOMS — Do you own a vehicle registered in another country? I have a Malay motorcycle and I had understood that customs declarations could be extended for only 30 days at a time, and ONLY ONCE. Since I will stay here until July 31, I will need to extend that doc for three more months. I visited customs today and I gather that the one-month limit is being waived just like the visa is.

My question is; am I wrong about the one-time extension? It got me in hot water and a 3,000 Baht fine, so I'm curious...

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks clarification on the rules regarding extending customs declarations for a vehicle registered abroad, specifically a Malaysian motorcycle. They initially believed that the extension could only be granted once for a duration of 30 days, leading to a fine for non-compliance. Recent information suggests this limit may be waived, lasting until July 31, prompting the inquiry.

It was a few years ago, the last time i was involved in a topic like this. But then, i'm pretty sure a vehicle registered in another country had 2 years before it had to either leave here or be registered. The amount of time that it had to leave before it could return, i'm not sure of.

Why does it mater if you have a vehicle registered in another country?

Because if you import it temporarily as a tourist, the customs only permit limited time periods without it becoming an 'import' incurring a tax liability.
