TLDR : Answer Summary
The community advises that exchanging the old UK £20 paper notes in Thailand is very difficult, if not impossible. Many commenters agree that banks in Thailand will not accept these notes, especially since they are no longer legal tender in the UK as of September 30, 2022. Recommendations include taking the notes back to a UK bank or finding a British friend to exchange them with, as local currency exchange services have stopped accepting them.
no problem at all pal , I hope you manage to get them changed

By bitter experience we bring over CLEAN £20 notes to exchange and have no problem. By clean I mean crisp new and unmarked notes. We go especially to our bank for them.

I just hold them until I make a British friend and exchange with them. I have like 4 currencies in my bag currently 🤪

Paper notes haven't been legal tender for a few years. You won't be able to get them changed in thailand

Considering they're no longer legal tender in the UK, are you genuinely surprised that a money changer won't change them for you here?

Sounds like your trying to change the old notes. Your only chance maybe a bank un the UK.
